In Orlando, Florida, USA, a shooting occurred at a Halloween street festival on the 1st, killing two people and injuring seven others. The incident took place at a bar and restaurant at 1 a.m., where thousands of people were gathered in costumes. The shooting resulted in casualties, and some people were trampled by those fleeing in panic.
A 17-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene, and a firearm was confiscated. However, the motive behind the crime remains unknown. The suspect has been charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder with a firearm.
In response to the incident, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer declared a state of emergency in the city’s entertainment district and banned the sale of alcohol after midnight for the next seven days. A curfew was also imposed between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.
