“Our gunmen fired a series of rockets from southern Lebanon targeting Israeli military positions. This move is in response to Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank,” said al-Qassam’s statement posted on the social network Telegram.

According to a statement released later by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), about 20 missiles entered the country’s airspace when the attack occurred. However, most of the Hamas rockets were shot down by the Iron Dome air defense system, while the rest fell in open areas.

“Alarms sounded in the city of Kiryat Shmona and many nearby settlements when the attack occurred. There were no reports of damage to people or property caused by the attack. We sent artillery to attack the location where the missile was launched,” the IDF statement read.

Cargo ship was attacked by missiles off the coast of Yemen

The Times of Israel said that a container ship carrying the flag of the Island of Malta was attacked by three missiles today while operating off the coast of Yemen. Currently, no armed group has claimed responsibility for carrying out the above attack.

“The location where the ship was attacked is about 54 nautical miles (100km) northwest of the Yemeni port city of Mokha. The above ship was targeted because the agency operating this vehicle was having commercial activities with Israel,” Maritime Security Company Ambrey revealed information about the attack.

According to the Times of Israel, since the Gaza Strip conflict broke out last October, pro-Iranian armed groups, such as the Houthis in Yemen, have regularly carried out many attacks on cargo ships passing through the Red Sea in the name of meaning “showing solidarity with the people of the Gaza Strip who are facing bombardment from Israel”.
