Lewis Hamilton set the fastest time during testing in Barcelona.
Hamilton was pleased with the initial runs with the new car. “This generation of cars is a bit more fun to drive,” hamilton told F1. “The car is responsive, aggressive and a little slippery. It’s a bit easier to correct and I would definitely say it’s more enjoyable.”
“Of course,we still have work to do to improve, just like everyone else. But we had great briefings, everyone is fully committed. I feel a winning mentality in every single person on the team more than ever before. So that’s positive.”
“We’re not kidding ourselves, we know there’s work ahead.Mercedes had great runs. I think Red bull and Haas were also vrey good,so we don’t really know where we are exactly. But I think it’s a solid first week and we have somthing to build on. Maybe there are some big leaps forward waiting for us. key will be advancement - simply making sure we leave no stone unturned and that our dialogue and decisions are clear and concise. It will require all of us to be in our best shape. And I see that everyone is going into it with new energy this year, which is great.”
We met our program
Hamilton’s teammate, Charles Leclerc, was also satisfied with the tests.
“it was a productive shakedown. We met our program and managed to complete a solid number of laps, which was key to initially understanding the car and the new systems,” Leclerc told the Ferrari website. “The first day in the wet was challenging, especially with a completely new car, but it ultimately became a valuable experience. The last two days were also positive and now our focus shifts to analyzing the data and working in Maranello before the tests in Bahrain.”
