Hanwha will replace Ryan Carpenter, 32, a foreign pitcher who suffered an injury.

The Hanwha Eagles requested the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) to disclose a waiver for Carpenter on the 31st.

Carpenter looked completely different this year from last year. Last year, the winning streak did not follow with 5-12, but the pitching content was excellent with a 3.97 ERA and 179 strikeouts in 170 innings (2nd in the KBO League). Hanwha, who rarely saw foreign pitchers in action, naturally chose to renew his contract with Carpenter.

But this season he has been plagued with injuries. He left the season early due to left elbow pain and returned to the first team on the 25th. was not in perfect condition. He didn’t come from the second team because he pitched more, he pitched just 46 pitches in three innings on his comeback. The match wasn’t bad, but he again complained of elbow pain and was eventually canceled two days after promotion. In the end, Hanwha chose to replace a foreign pitcher instead of waiting for Carpenter.

Hanwha said, “We are currently in the process of negotiating a transfer for a replacement foreign player, and we plan to finish the signing as soon as possible.”
