The event aimed to promote healthy weekend leisure activities and encourage adults with developmental disabilities in Ulsan to participate in physical exercise.

Since 2022, Hanwha Solutions has been actively supporting a health promotion project for the disabled in collaboration with the 2nd Gymnasium for the Disabled. The purpose of this project is to enhance the participation of individuals with disabilities in sports by providing easier access to sports activities and generating interest through adaptive sports games. Once again this year, Hanwha Solutions Ulsan Factory allocated 10 million won to support the implementation of this project, building on the success of the previous year.

The initiative to organize the “Sports Game Open Class” was prompted by requests from the Jung-gu and Buk-gu branches of the Ulsan Developmental Intellectual Disability Welfare Association. Last June, a sports game promotion booth was set up during a walking competition for people with developmental disabilities to commemorate the Day of People with Disabilities. The positive response from adults with developmental disabilities highlighted the need to create a dedicated space for uplifting and healthy leisure experiences, leading to the establishment of the open class.

Youngmi Park, a participant in the open class who also has a developmental disability, expressed her enthusiasm for the program, stating, “Engaging in physical exercise through sports games is not only enjoyable but also manageable. I look forward to exploring various forms of physical activity through sports games in the future.”

A representative from Hanwha Solutions expressed their hope that disabled individuals in Ulsan can experience a wide range of exercises, unrestricted by space, thanks to sports games. Additionally, they emphasized their commitment to providing ongoing support to further enhance the welfare of disabled individuals in the community.

By organizing events like the open sports game class, Hanwha Solutions Ulsan Factory is contributing to the overall well-being and inclusion of individuals with disabilities, while fostering a sense of enjoyment and participation in physical exercise.
