HBO has announced the lead cast for its highly anticipated “Harry Potter” series. After an extensive search involving over 30,000 young actors, Dominic McLaughlin, Alastair Stout, and Arabella Stanton have been chosen too portray Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger, respectively.
production is slated to begin this summer, with the premiere scheduled for next year. Executive producers Francesca Gardiner and Mark Mylod expressed their excitement about the young actors’ talent and thanked all the auditionees. Gardiner will serve as showrunner, and Mylod will direct multiple episodes.
J.K. Rowling, along with Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Brontë Film & TV, and David Heyman of Heyday Films, will also serve as executive producers on the series. The new series aims for a faithful adaptation of the original books.
