A Manhattan jury has convicted Harvey Weinstein of committing a criminal sexual act in the first degree, following a three-week trial. The disgraced movie mogul,already convicted in California,was found guilty of assaulting Miriam Haley. jurors, however, acquitted him on a separate charge of sexually assaulting Kaja Sokola and could not reach a unanimous decision regarding allegations made by Jessica Mann.
Weinstein’s initial New York conviction, which carried a 23-year sentance, was overturned on appeal.
