Hasan Bitmez caused a stir during the budget debate in the General Assembly. After his speech he faints.
A Turkish lawmaker apparently suffered a heart attack after giving an incendiary speech about Israel. This is reported by the British broadcaster “BBC”.
Accordingly, MP Hasan Bitmez, a member of the Saadet party, gave his speech during the budget debate in the General Assembly. Shortly after he finished proclaiming that Israel could not escape the “wrath of God,” the 53-year-old fell to the floor and fainted. He apparently suffered a heart attack.
Bitmez received initial medical care in the plenary hall, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation, according to the BBC. According to the Minister of Health, Fahrettin Koca, the MP was then placed on a heart-lung machine and is alive.
