In a recent television appearance, Ruyun admitted that her filming career had taken a toll on her health, often leaving her exhausted and experiencing frequent stomach aches. Despite seeking medical help and diligently taking prescribed medication, her condition showed no signs of improvement. Concerned, she began to fear that she may have gastric cancer and promptly sought medical examination.

The program “11 O’Clock Shop” provided a platform for Ruyun to share her experiences. She revealed that, during her youth, irregular eating habits and high levels of stress contributed to her chronic stomach pain and flatulence. Despite adjusting her eating schedule upon becoming a mother, these issues persisted. Added weight would trigger intense stomach pain, and even while working on the set of the eight o’clock show, she had to rely on two types of medicine daily. Unfortunately, even after this regimen, Ruyun continued to suffer from stomach problems.

Dissatisfied with her lack of progress, Ruyun visited the hospital for a thorough examination. Alarmed by her painful symptoms, she voiced her concerns to the doctor, convinced that she had gastric cancer. However, much to her relief, the doctor reassured her that cancer typically does not cause pain and suggested that inflammation might be the cause. A subsequent gastroenteroscopy revealed polyps, which were promptly removed, quashing her fears of cancer. Nevertheless, given the polyp’s location in an area prone to colorectal cancer and the presence of Helicobacter pylori infection, her doctor advised her to undergo a gastroscopy every two years.

Speaking on the matter, Dr. Chen Baichen, a family medicine doctor, explained that gastric cancer symptoms are often subtle. However, individuals can monitor their condition by observing constipation, excessive abdominal pressure caused by tight-fitting clothes, difficulty digesting certain foods, and food allergies. Making conscious efforts to chew thoroughly, eat slowly, and avoid talking while eating can alleviate flatulence problems.
