The healthbiz podcast is set to move to the CareTalk: Healthcare Unfiltered Channel,marking a new chapter for the healthcare business and policy-focused audio program. The transition promises listeners access to a broader range of content and discussions.
Launched as the Health Business Blog in March 2005, the platform evolved from written perspectives to include audio interviews with healthcare CEOs in 2007. The blog’s popularity led to the renaming of the associated consulting firm to Health Business Group.
A important milestone occured in 2014 when all nine Massachusetts gubernatorial candidates were interviewed about their healthcare plans, aiming to elevate the political debate. In 2017, the CareTalk podcast was launched with John driscoll, then CEO of carecentrix and current Chairman of the UConn Health System, co-hosting. Initially monthly in-person recordings, the podcast shifted to weekly remote sessions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In September 2020, the Health Business Blog transitioned to an all-podcast format, becoming the HealthBiz podcast, produced by Dafna Williams. Releasing weekly episodes across major audio channels and YouTube, it has amassed over 200 episodes.
A trial integration in 2024 saw HealthBiz Briefs added to the CareTalk channel, which proved prosperous in boosting engagement. Now, in 2025, HealthBiz is fully integrating into CareTalk.
