Home-Based Care Companies Expand Through ‍M&A, De Novo

Several home-based⁣ care organizations are strategically expanding their reach through ⁢mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and de novo growth, aiming to enhance ⁣their service offerings and geographic presence in ⁤the competitive healthcare market.

Lucet, a behavioral health company, is set to⁤ acquire Emcara Health, a value-based national medical⁣ group specializing⁢ in home-based advanced primary care. ‍Shana Hoffman, president and CEO of Lucet, said ⁢the acquisition will allow them to offer more extensive care and connect individuals to high-quality healthcare resources. The ⁢deal aims to integrate Emcara’s in-home care solutions with Lucet’s behavioral health expertise,⁤ creating new integrated care models, according to jeff Goddard, executive vice president and CFO of GuideWell.

The Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) ‍of ⁣Ohio, founded in⁢ Cleveland⁣ in 1902, has been acquired by⁣ h/care, a healthcare management organization, effective May 1. Renee Coughlin,managing director of VNA of Ohio,said ⁣the⁣ partnership will ensure ⁢patients continue to receive trusted care. Ryan ⁤Haller,CEO and founding ⁢principal of h/care,added that the acquisition is a⁣ commitment to honoring ⁤the VNA’s legacy while advancing ⁢care standards.

AmeriBest ⁤Home Care has ⁣opened a new location in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.Michael Hueitt, Jr., Pittsburgh⁣ branch director, said⁣ the move⁣ makes sense as roughly 1 in 5 residents is over 65.
