HOLMDEL, NJ – Bell Theater at Bell Works will host performances of Hearts in Motion, a contemporary ballet presented in collaboration with the Axelrod Performing Arts Academy and Ballet Rêve, on and , 2026.

Hearts in Motion promises a powerful exploration of love in its various forms – romantic, familial, and friendship – unfolding through three distinct stages: Beginnings, Crossroads, and Unity. The production aims to capture the emotional complexity of human connection, from the initial spark of attraction to moments of doubt and the celebration of enduring bonds.

The ballet’s artistic vision is further enriched by its soundtrack, which blends classic and contemporary music. Audiences can expect to hear both timeless pieces by Nat King Cole alongside modern hits from artists like Olivia Dean, creating a soundscape that bridges nostalgia, and innovation.

The production features professional dancers working alongside students from the Axelrod Academy. This collaboration underscores a commitment to fostering both established talent and the next generation of performers.

A Vision Rooted in Artistic Collaboration

Olivia Miranda, the Artistic Director and Founder of Ballet Rêve, is a driving force behind Hearts in Motion. Her work reflects a dedication to creating a sustainable and artistically fulfilling environment for dancers, while also making dance more accessible and emotionally resonant for audiences. In 2025, Miranda presented her full-length contemporary ballet, One Sweet Dream: Abbey Road & Beyond, in France at Château en Fête, a national arts festival.

Miranda’s background includes a period as a founding member of Axelrod Contemporary Ballet Theatre, beginning in 2018 after graduating from The Ailey School and Fordham University with a B.F.A. In Dance and English. She has also danced with Ballet Hispánico and as a freelance artist, performing with companies such as Mari Meade Dance Collective and at The McCarter Theatre.

As a choreographer, Miranda has presented work at venues including The Bell Theater, Asbury Park Dance Festival, Ailey Citigroup Theatre, Dixon Place, The McCarter Theatre, Rider University, and The Tank NYC. She has also been a dance educator for over eight years, working with organizations like Princeton Ballet School, Dance For Joy, Hamilton Ballet Theatre, and Axelrod Academy.
