Thiruvananthapuram: Heavy rains are expected in the state today. Based on this, Red Alert has been declared in five districts. Red Alert has been declared in Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Kozhikode and Kannur districts.

An orange alert has been issued for seven places due to heavy rains. The orange alert was issued in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Malappuram, Wayanad and Kasaragod districts.
