Jeju Island has become a winter kingdom.

A heavy snow warning was issued in the morning, and all roads were controlled.

The runway at Jeju Airport was controlled at one time in the morning, and about 30 flights were canceled and dozens of flights were delayed.

The Korea Meteorological Administration predicted that up to 30 cm of snow would accumulate in the Jeju area by tomorrow.

On Ulleungdo, which receives the most snow in the country every year, the road heating system laid out as a pilot project went into operation for the first time yesterday.

It was installed on the 100m section of the Anpyeongjeon Road, which is a slope road, and it is a place where students in and out of a nearby school have difficulties whenever there is a heavy snowfall.

Ulleung-gun said that the road heating wire played an important role, such as not creating an icy section even in this heavy snow.

However, snow accidents have occurred all over the country.

In Haenam, Jeollanam-do, a vehicle that slipped and collided with a railing of a bridge, and another vehicle fell into a rice paddy 2m below and injured the driver.

On the east coast of Gangwon-do, some fishing boats that could not withstand the weight of yesterday’s snow sank and the Coast Guard was dispatched.
