Tragic Accident: Delivery Man Battling Cancer Killed by Drunk Driver
A man in his 50s, who worked as a deliveryman to support his family while fighting cancer, lost his life in a tragic accident involving a drunk driver.
According to Channel A, the incident occurred on September 5th, around 1:38 am, near the Junggok overpass in Gohyeon-dong, Geoje-si, Gyeongsangnam-do. A passenger car driven by Mr. A, in his 20s, crossed the center line and collided with a motorcycle driven by Mr. B, the victim.
Mr. B suffered severe head injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he unfortunately passed away. It is reported that he was returning to the office after completing a delivery when the accident occurred.
Mr. B, a father of two, had lost his job several years ago and started a delivery business to support his family. Despite being recently diagnosed with terminal cancer, he continued to work hard to provide for his loved ones. A coworker at the delivery company shared, “He said he wanted to work at least once before he died because he had cancer. He worked very hard.”
At the time of the accident, Mr. A’s blood alcohol level was high enough to result in his license being suspended. He refused to be arrested at the scene, claiming he didn’t remember the situation due to shock. The police reported that Mr. A caused the accident while driving drunk on a curved road and arrested him on charges of dangerous driving resulting in death.
The incident has sparked outrage and raised concerns about the dangers of drunk driving. The police are continuing to investigate the exact circumstances of the accident.
