Hezbollah Leader Muhammad Hussain Soroor Assassinated: Unraveling the Mystery Behind the Mysterious Figure

The Israeli occupation army announced the killing of the commander of the Lebanese Hezbollah air unit, Muhammad Hussein Sorour, in an airstrike in the southern suburbs of Beirut on Thursday.

Two security sources told Reuters, who did not want to be identified, that Sour was killed in an Israeli operation in the southern suburbs of Beirut. However, Hezbollah has yet to issue a statement confirming whether Soror was killed.

Who is Muhammad Hussain Soror?

Muhammad Hussain Sarur, known as “Abu Saleh”, is the commander of Hezbollah’s air unit.

A source close to Hezbollah told Agence France-Presse that Soror has a degree in mathematics and that his role in Hezbollah went beyond Lebanese territory, as he was among the advisers who trained the Houthis and other regional organizations known as the “Axis of Resistance”.

According to a summary distributed by Hezbollah, Sorou was born on 07-08-1973 in the city of Aita al-Shab (South Lebanon). He joined the ranks of the party in 1986, where he rose to organizational responsibility within the resistance structure and completed several senior leadership courses.

Soror participated in many of Hezbollah’s operations against the Israeli occupation and moved between several military specialties, and since 2020 has taken over the responsibility of the air force in the resistance.
