IITTF Men’s and Women’s World Cup <15-21 aprile/Macao> On the 19th, in the quarterfinals of women’s singles, Hina Hayata (23 = Nippon Life Insurance / 6th place in the world) defeated Wang Manyu (25 = China / 2nd place in the world) by a count of 1. We lost for -4.

Hayata lost only one match to the 2021 World Table Tennis Champion, King, with a record of 0 wins and 2 losses, including the Mixed World Cup. I went for honesty for the third time.

From the start, Hayata was attacked by Oh’s mid-range attack, and was unable to counter his drives many times, allowing him to take the lead at 8-11. In the second match, they were tied until midway through the match, but were hit with sideballs and shots into the net, resulting in a 7-11 defeat.

In the third game, Hayata started the attack with powerful shots, including a return serve, and regained the lead at 11-8. However, Hayata was unable to swing his racket satisfactorily due to Oh’s harsh mid-range attacks and lost the fourth game 6–11.

In the fifth game, Hayata made his specialty on the front foot and took a 6-2 lead, but was down 3 points and called a timeout at 6-5. However, his next shot was taken away by a boundary ball, and he was unable to recover from Oh’s pressure and lost 8-11.

With Hayata defeated, the remaining Japanese players in the top four were Tomokazu Harimoto (Tomokazu Kikaku) and Miwa Harimoto (Kinoshita Group), Harimoto’s brother and sister.
