The television originally launched at a price starting from $1,299 for a 55-inch configuration when it debuted in August 2023, offering consumers a heavily discounted path to advanced display technology.

Display Performance and Mini-LED Technology

According to TechRadar, the U8K series utilizes Mini-LED technology paired with full-array local dimming to deliver high peak brightness and strong contrast levels. While testing the hardware, reviewers noted that the local dimming performance keeps backlight blooming to a minimum during dark-room viewing. The display also includes an anti-glare screen designed to cut down on reflections from overhead lamps, making it suitable for brighter living spaces.

Audio capabilities on the U8K include a built-in 2.1.2 Dolby Atmos speaker system, setting it apart from standard flat-panel sound configurations.
