King Charles Visits Apple Headquarters With Sir Elton John and Tim Cook
Dressed in a gray pinstripe suit, King Charles observed a sound check alongside Sir Elton John and his husband, David Furnish, before meeting mentors and volunteers at the Battersea venue. Sir Elton previously performed at the September 28 opening of the Apple Music Hall at the same location. The King’s Trust has collaborated with Apple since 2019 on digital skills, AI literacy, and creativity projects for youth across the United Kingdom. During a 2024 visit to Apple’s headquarters, Tim Cook praised the King’s philanthropic leadership and service.
Palace Draws Financial Boundary Over Prince Andrew Legal Review
The public appearance follows ongoing developments regarding Prince Andrew, who initiated legal action against the Thames Valley Police over his February arrest. A Buckingham Palace source stated that the King has made it clear to his younger brother that private funds provided by the monarch must not be used to finance his judicial review. Prince Andrew resides on the Sandringham estate and receives an undisclosed annual private allowance from King Charles. The Palace source added that the legal defense remains a matter solely for Prince Andrew and his legal team, with no involvement from Buckingham Palace regarding strategy.
Prince Andrew Challenges Legality of Police Searches
Prince Andrew was arrested on February 19, his 66th birthday, on suspicion of misconduct in public office following allegations that he shared confidential information with Jeffrey Epstein while serving as a UK trade envoy. Courts have granted him permission to challenge whether the Thames Valley Police acted lawfully during searches connected to that arrest. When the arrest occurred, King Charles issued a written statement declaring that the law must see its course.
Criminal cases in the UK are brought by the Crown Prosecution Service in the name of the reigning monarch.
