Infinx CEO on RCM Technology, AI’s Role, and Healthcare Innovation
Updated June 17, 2025
Healthcare revenue cycle management (RCM) faces constant change, driven by inherent friction between patients,
providers, and payers, according to Jaideep Tandon, CEO of Infinx. Tandon, whose company provides RCM solutions
to about 800 customers, saeid the industry must adapt to evolving payer guidelines, increasing denials, and
authorization requirements.
Tandon said prior authorization remains a significant burden, complicating patient access to care. While payers
need some authorization control, data gaps often lead to denials. Tandon suggests technology, better
processes, and tighter front-end RCM controls can address these issues, ensuring patients receive timely care and
preventing revenue leakage.
Electronic health records (EHRs) are improving as a single source of truth, but Tandon noted that faxing remains
a common dialog method, particularly in specialist referrals. He said document capture technologies are
gaining traction, but disparate systems often lead to reliance on fax protocols for their low cost and ease of
use.
Looking ahead, Tandon sees artificial intelligence (AI) playing an increasing role in RCM, building on earlier
phases of offshoring and robotic process automation. He stressed that infinx focuses on delivering outcomes,
using technology as a first line of defense. Weather its AI agents handling cognitive tasks or a phone call to
a payer, the goal is a clean authorization before the date of service.
Health systems are increasingly demanding measurable return on investment (ROI) from technology vendors, Tandon
said. Innovation groups within these systems are pushing for cutting-edge solutions, but business process leaders
want assurance that new technology will improve efficiency without increasing team size. Tandon said defining
clear success metrics is crucial for successful technology implementation.
Tandon said payers are increasingly supporting data interchange standards like FHIR and HL7,facilitating
automated responses for claim status checks and prior authorization requests. While these integrations address
some challenges, Tandon acknowledged that many long-tail problems in healthcare RCM require a practical,
results-oriented approach.
Assessing the current business environment, Tandon noted geopolitical uncertainty is affecting organizational
decision-making, shortening commitment levels. Though, he also observed unprecedented alignment among investors,
healthcare leaders, and vendors to drive innovation in healthcare.
Infinx is strategically evaluating how AI might disrupt or enhance its various lines of business.Tandon said
that while AI offers opportunities, it is indeed not a “silver bullet.” Given the fragmented nature of healthcare and
RCM, mergers and acquisitions remain a key growth strategy, allowing Infinx to partner wiht domain experts and
scale solutions globally.
What’s next
Infinx plans to continue integrating AI into its solutions and exploring strategic partnerships to address the
complex challenges in healthcare RCM, with a focus on delivering measurable value and improving patient care.
