History Made: Indian Women Reach Finals in Asian Badminton Championship for the First Time

Kuala Lumpur: Indian women in the finals for the first time in the history of Asian Badminton Championship. Indian women defeated the Japanese team in a thrilling semi-final. The Japanese team won two games while the Indian team won three games.

The first match was between PV Sindhu and Aya Ohori of Japan. PV Sindhu lost in straight sets and India lead 0-1. But the second match was won by Teresa Jolie-Gayatri Gopichand for India. Ashmita Chaliha won the third game to give India a 2-1 lead. But Japan came back strong in the fourth game.

Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa came out for India in the fourth game. But when Tanisha got injured, PV Sindhu came in her place. But the defeat of the Indian league was the result. With this, the fifth game became the final. 17-year-old Anmol Kharb, who competed in the last match, won for India.
