[마이데일리 = 김지우 기자]There was a claim that ‘Queen of Tears’ was originally a sad ending.

On the 28th, ‘Queen of Tears’ ended with the highest viewership rating of any tvN drama of all time, 24.9%. Although it ended with spectacular results, there are various ‘theories’ coming out, including voices of dissatisfaction with the ending that did not meet expectations.

In the final episode, Baek Hyun-woo (Kim Soo-hyun) and Hong Hae-in (Kim Ji-won) overcame the crisis facing each other and promised to spend the rest of their lives together. Following the sight of the two becoming full-fledged parents after giving birth to a daughter, there was a scene where Baek Hyeon-woo, now a white-haired old man, caressed Hong Hae-in’s tombstone. Afterwards, Baek Hyun-woo and Hong Hae-in reunited in heaven as they were when they were young.

Although it is a happy ending, some people expressed disappointment with this ending. “A death ending to a sweet romantic comedy,” “It would have been enough to end with the couple living happily together,” “Episode 5 is the last kissing scene. I wanted to see more happy scenes of Hyeon-woo and Hae-in, who were having a hard time.”

Furthermore, one netizen wrote, “‘Queen of Tears’ originally had a third ending.” According to the article, the ending was about Hyeon-woo and his daughter missing Hae-in, who died in Germany. Therefore, it is claimed that only child actors were cast in infancy, and the process of the daughter growing up is not shown in the frame shown in the epilogue.

Two versions of the Red Sea tombstone

In fact, in the frame in the epilogue, you can only find photos of the two daughters with their grandparents, not with their mother and father. There are no photos of older Hyunwoo and Haein. The netizen added, “There were two versions to film, but at the last minute (two weeks ago) the writer chose option two.”

Another netizen attached a still cut of Hong Hae-in’s tombstone before editing with ‘31.10.2034’ written on it, and said, “It is assumed that the original death was in 2034 and the 2074 was a re-filming. He originally died in 2034, and lived happily for the rest of his life. “It appears that this was intended,” he explained.

Viewers who saw this said, “Writer Park Ji-eun’s previous work ‘Crash Landing on You’ also had two different endings.” “I’m going,” he said, adding weight to the above argument.

In addition, there were various conflicting opinions, ranging from “A good death is better than an early death” to “A third ending would have been better” and “It doesn’t change that either one or the other is a dead end.”
