Honolulu Community College Expands Workforce Training with Spring 2026 Courses

Honolulu Community College is launching a new series of non-credit courses this spring, aimed at bolstering Hawaiʻi’s workforce and providing pathways to further education. The Continuing Education Department’s offerings, beginning in April 2026, will focus on trades, fashion, safety and other in-demand skills.

The courses are designed to support both lifelong learning and career advancement, with a particular emphasis on bridging the gap between non-credit training and credit-bearing academic programs. According to Honolulu CC, the spring semester’s curriculum reflects a commitment to “responsive, industry-centered education,” aligning training with current workforce needs.

A key component of the new offerings is a Welding Fundamentals course, which begins on , and will be held on Thursdays and Fridays from to through . The course is specifically designed to prepare students for entry into Honolulu CC’s credit welding program and the Welding 152 course. Hands-on instruction will cover oxyacetylene and arc welding, equipment operation, safety protocols, and fabrication fundamentals.
