National Sports School U16 Basketball Championship Kicks Off in Shanghang

Southeast.com, September 26 (Fujian Daily correspondent Yang Guoxin, Lan Jianzhen, Chen Liyuan text/photo) The 2024 National Sports School U16 Basketball Championship top 16 finals (men’s group) started at Shanghang County Sports Center on the 22nd and will last until the 28th.

This event is an important competition for the State General Administration of Sport to revitalize the three major ball sports and build a national youth U series competition system. It aims to provide more competition opportunities for sports schools at all levels and types, build an exchange and learning platform among sports schools, help young athletes accumulate competition experience and improve comprehensive abilities, further discover and cultivate sports reserve talents, and help the rapid development of youth basketball projects.

On the first day of the competition, physical fitness and technical tests were conducted. Athletes were required to complete 11 test items, including running-up, single-leg take-off, hexagonal movement, standing long jump, etc., and individuals and teams were ranked according to their results. The overall ranking of the competition will be determined by calculating the total score of the team’s performance in the three parts of physical fitness, technical tests and competition.
