How is it going, what is the audience saying?

11 movies have been released on this Eid-ul-Fitr crossing the boundaries of discussion and criticism. Experts consider it to be really bad for the industry. However, there was an expectation of some, through the films, the tide of the audience will return to the theaters. How much of that expectation is being fulfilled, how are the Eid pictures going? And what are the viewers saying? Let’s know those news

Several sources related to cinema say that ‘Rajkumar’ directed by Himel Ashraf is ahead in terms of sales and popularity as an Eid film. Which is played by Shakib Khan in the title role. Different parts of the story of the film are making the audience emotional. Along with that, Shakib’s performance is also getting praise. As a result, various theaters including Star Cineplex are getting a significant audience.

‘Rajkumar’ released in maximum 126 theaters on Eid. Then the second place is occupied by Mohammad Mustafa Kamal Raj’s ‘Omar’. The film got 21 halls. It is known that it is positioned after ‘Rajkumar’ in terms of audience response as well. Especially the story of the film is impressing the audience and critics. Producer Chayanika Chowdhury could not contain her emotions after seeing ‘Omar’, cried and hugged the producer.

A lot of people had expectations about ‘Deyaler Desh’ produced by Mishuk Moni. Star Cineplex allotted maximum shows for the film. But after release the equation of achievement with that expectation does not match. Therefore, the Cineplex authorities said that the show of the film has been reduced.

Young hero Adar Azad and heroine Pooja Cheri are garnering praise with ‘Lipstick’. Many viewers are considering the film directed by Kamruzzaman Roman as ‘Paysa Usul’. Although due to various complications it could not provide more than 7 halls.

Star Cineplex authorities were contacted to know about the trade and audience of Eid films. The company’s senior marketing officer Mesbah Uddin Ahmed told the Bangla Tribune, ‘Eid is still in the mood. People are on vacation, traveling. As such the pictures are going well. To be clear, the film ‘Rajkumar’ is doing well. Because Shakib Khan has a lot of fans. After that the film ‘Omar’ is going great. We are running a total of eight films this Eid. Among them, I am getting a great response from Shariful Raj starrer ‘Omar’. The rest can be said to be doing well.”

People in the film trade feel that the stir created in the country’s cinema with ‘Priyatma’ and ‘Suranga’ during last year’s Eid-ul-Adha is not possible this time. According to him, ‘Word of Mouth’ or positive response from the audience is essential for good business of the film.

Ghiyas Uddin Salim built ‘Kajalrekha’ with government grant after long time research and preparation. It released in 10 theaters. However, there is no enthusiasm for the film.

‘Mona: Jinn 2’ is in a somewhat busy position in the promotion. But the film is running in only six theaters. Among these, various halls are empty for its shows. Cable Star Cineplex has its audience at the Bashundhara branch.

Apart from this, Zayed Khan’s ‘Sonar Char’, Fuad Chowdhury’s ‘Meghna Kanya’, Jasim Uddin Zakir’s ‘Maya: The Love’, Kazi Hayat’s ‘Green Card’ and Chatku Ahmed’s ‘Ahare Jiban’ are not reaching the audience.
