The world’s first artificial intelligence (AI) beauty pageant will be held.

According to the British Daily Mail on the 16th (Korean time), the creator platform ‘Fanview’ is recruiting participants for the world’s first AI beauty contest ‘World AI Creator Award’ in May. A total of $20,000 (about 28 million won) in prize money will also be paid.

Participants simply submit an image of a ‘beautiful’ woman using AI and prepare answers to a few questions. Questions include details of what was used to create the AI image.

After narrowing down 10 candidates in the preliminary round at the end of this month, a total of three winners will be selected in the finals scheduled for May.

Miss AI, who takes first place, will receive a total prize of $13,000 (about 18 million won). Second and third places are worth $5,000 (about 7 million won) and $2,000 (about 3 million won), respectively.

AI also participates as a judge. A total of four judges were formed, including two human judges and AI influencers ‘Aitina Lopez’ and ‘Emily Pellig Lina’ who have over 300,000 followers on Instagram.

There are three criteria for judging: ▲beauty ▲technology ▲social media (SNS) influence. The key is how well the areas around the hands and eyes, which are usually the most prone to loopholes in AI, are implemented like real people. ‘Social media influence’ is literally evaluated based on how much attention is attracted online.

‘Fanview’ co-founder Will Monange said, “I hope that in the future, events such as the World AI Creator Awards will develop like the ‘Oscar Awards of the AI creative world’.”

“I’m really excited to be participating in this forward-thinking judging,” said judge Fawcett. “There are a lot of similarities between real beauty pageant contestants and AI creators.” He added, “The difference is that none of the participants are human, and the use of technology is the main judging item.”
