IO Interactive has detailed the technical configurations and console performance modes for the upcoming action game 007 First Light ahead of its scheduled release on May 27, 2026.

The developer confirmed that players using PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X hardware will be able to choose between two distinct display modes to balance visual fidelity and smoothness of play.

Console Performance and Display Modes

According to reporting from Konzolista.cz, the game will offer a Quality mode and a Performance mode. The Quality mode is designed to prioritize higher visual quality and targets a frame rate of 30 frames per second (fps).

Conversely, the Performance mode targets 60 fps to provide a more fluid gameplay experience, which the developer notes is particularly beneficial for a fast-paced action title.

To demonstrate these capabilities, IO Interactive released a gameplay video on the social network X on May 11, 2026, showcasing the PlayStation 5 Pro version. The developers stated that the game runs stably at 60 fps on this hardware.

These technical updates follow earlier concerns from players regarding framerate stability during the game’s initial presentation. IO Interactive has since indicated that the optimization process has been significantly advanced to resolve those issues before the May 27 launch.

PC Requirements and Path Tracing Roadmap

In addition to console specifications, the final technical requirements for the PC version of 007 First Light have been revealed, as reported by Indian-TV.

While the game will be available on PC at launch, certain high-end graphical features will be implemented later. Specifically, path tracing—a rendering technique that simulates the physical behavior of light to create more realistic reflections and lighting—will be added to the game in an update following the initial release.

The focus for the launch window remains on stabilizing performance across the supported console ecosystem and meeting the established PC hardware requirements to ensure a consistent experience across platforms.
