Diving – Huawei Watch Capabilities
This text details the diving capabilities of a Huawei watch. Here’s a breakdown of the key information:
Water Resistance:
* The watch is waterproof up to 20 atmospheres (200 meters).
* Huawei also suggests a depth of 150 meters is achievable.
* For context, the world record for freediving (CWT) is 136 meters.
Interaction Underwater – Key feature: Sonar
* the most fascinating technical aspect is the Solution of Communication in Water using sonar.
* Users can send text messages and emojis underwater.
* A demo showed the watch receiving news underwater, but real-world testing with divers is desired.
* Sonar functionality works up to 60 meters – this is the maximum depth for sending an SOS signal.
* The sonar system combines a traditional audio speaker (for underwater function) and sonar technology.
* Traditional radio waves (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi) don’t work underwater, so Huawei utilized sonar, possibly the first miniature sonar built into a watch.
* The sonar operates on a frequency from 3 to… (the text is incomplete here).
Other Details:
* The presentation included detailed explanations of the button and speaker construction for reliable deep-sea operation.
* divers can navigate diving workouts and initiate communication using the sonar. The watch emits audible sounds.
