Hurricane Jova: This day the cyclone would reach the dangerous category 3 and thus affect Mexico

On the morning of this Tuesday, September 5, the National Metereological Service (SMN), official source of the Government of Mexico in climate matters, reported on the formation of the tropical storm “Jova”, a cyclone that could reach the dangerous category 3, but will it affect Mexico?

This morning, the tropical storm “Jova” was located, in its distance to the nearest place, 720 km south-southwest of Punta San Telmo, Michoacán, and 1,120 south-southeast of Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur.

The SMN communicated, through a notice, that The system does not affect the national territory, although its cloudy landslides reinforce the probability of very heavy rains in the west and south of the country.

According to the information, “Jova” moves west (280°) at 17 km/h and maintains maximum sustained winds of 85 km/h and gusts of 100 km/h.

According to the forecast, It is expected that it will be tomorrow around 06:00 when “Jova” increases its strength and reaches category 1 as a hurricane, when it is 820 km southwest of Playa Pérula, Jalisco.

It would remain like this until the afternoon of the same day, when it reaches category 2, but already 915 km south-southwest of Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur.

All Thursday it would continue its trajectory and in the afternoon, it would reach category 3, 970 km southwest of Cabo San Lázaro, Baja California Sur, to then gradually decrease its intensity..
