South Korea’s famous swimming star, Hwang Seon-woo reached the finals of the men’s 200m freestyle at the World Championships.

Hwang Seon-woo, a strong contender for the championship in this event, came second among all 16 participants with a record of 1 minute 45.15 seconds in the semi-final held early today (13th), securing a ticket to the finals.

Sunwoo Hwang, who won a silver medal at the 2022 Budapest Games and a bronze medal at the Fukuoka Games last year, will challenge to win medals in three consecutive World Championships tomorrow morning (14th), Korea time.

Lee Ho-jun, who competed together, came 15th overall and did not make the finals.

Meanwhile, Baek In-cheol, the first Korean athlete to compete in the 50m butterfly final at the World Championships, came 7th with a time of 23.35 seconds.
