Hyeri Opens Up About Her Struggle with Carbohydrate-Free Diet
Actress Hyeri, formerly of Girl’s Day, recently shared her experience with a carbohydrate-free diet, revealing that she ultimately failed to achieve her goals.
During an appearance on SBS PowerFM’s ‘Park Ha-sun’s Cinetown’, Hyeri discussed her weight gain after filming the movie ‘Victory’ and her subsequent decision to try a carbohydrate-free diet for 5 months.
Hyeri confessed, “I don’t often eat bread, but when I actually tried cutting carbs, I really craved bread.” She also admitted to struggling with snacking, saying, “I can endure rice, but I gave up on snacking because I craved it too much.”
Hyeri explained that she had intentionally gained weight for her role in the movie ‘Victory’, wanting to appear admirable and strong to her co-stars. However, after the movie ended, she continued to gain weight, prompting her to try the diet.
Although Hyeri reported that the diet had a positive effect, she found it too challenging to maintain and eventually gave up, saying, “I got close to my goal, but I said, ’I can’t do it’.”
Upcoming Project: ‘Good Competition’
Hyeri has confirmed her next project as the drama ‘Good Competition’, a high teen mystery thriller based on a webtoon of the same name. She will play the role of Yoo Je-yi, the real power behind Chae-hwa Girls’ High School.
