“I was suddenly penalized for a run that was fine in Brazil,” Verstappen confused / F1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix[F1-Gate .com]

Red Bull Honda F1 Max Verstappen says he is not sure why defensive driving, which was considered acceptable at the F1 Brazilian Grand Prix, suddenly became unacceptable at the F1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

Max Verstappen was judged off course when he competed for a lead from Lewis Hamilton by Steward twice at the F1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

For the first incident, Red Bull F1 accepted an offer from Steward that Max Verstappen would return his position to Lewis Hamilton on a restart after the red flag, but for the second incident, it had an advantage off course. He was penalized for 5 seconds for getting.

The second ruling caused another incident in which Lewis Hamilton collided with Max Verstappen, who tried to slow down and return to position on the track. This braking is penalized for 10 seconds after the race.

However, Max Verstappen changed their stance as Steward took no action when he and Lewis Hamilton went off course to maintain the lead at the F1 Brazilian Grand Prix. I’m at a loss as to why.

At a post-race press conference, Max Verstappen said of his actions on Turn 1, “He was running like Brazil. Of course, I delayed the brakes. At some point I think I was a little offline. Wide. But he couldn’t make a corner either. “

“So basically both of us missed the corner, but I don’t think it’s fair for me to be penalized.”

“It’s strange that I’m the one who gets the penalty when we both run outside the white line. It was fine in Brazil, but suddenly we were penalized. Neither of us made a corner. I think you can see it clearly. “

Max Verstappen said in a line during the post-race inlap that F1 emphasizes penalties over races.

Max Verstappen maintained that idea, even though he had some time to calm down before the press conference.

“I said in the first half of the lap, but I think I’m talking more about white lines and penalties than the actual F1 race, which is a bit disappointing,” reaffirmed Max Verstappen.
