The ICC has announced its team of the 2020 Women’s T20 World Cup, showcasing stellar performances from across the globe. The team, selected in batting order, features a strong Australian and English presence, recognizing their notable contributions to the tournament.
Australia’s Alyssa Healy (wicketkeeper) and Beth Mooney headline the batting lineup.Healy scored 236 runs at an average of 39.33, while Mooney amassed 259 runs at 64.75. Their partnership set a new women’s T20 World Cup record, accumulating 352 runs together.
England’s Nat Sciver and Heather Knight also earned spots. Sciver tallied 202 runs at an impressive 67.33, and Knight added 193 runs at 64.33. Knight distinguished herself as the first English cricketer to score centuries in all three formats.
Australian captain Meg Lanning, who led her team to their fifth Women’s T20 World Cup title on home soil, joins the squad. Her crucial 49 in the semi-final against south Africa underscored her value.
