MUMBAI: Shiv Sena will not remain part of the Maharashtra government if Ajit Pawar joins the BJP along with a group of NCP leaders. Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Shirsat said in a press conference that NCP is a party of traitors and is not ready to go along with the government they are part of. Shiv Sena’s warning comes amid growing rumors that Ajit Pawar and some NCP MLAs may join the BJP.

If he comes to the BJP with a group of NCP leaders, we will not continue the government. But if Ajit Pawar leaves the NCP alone, he will be welcomed, says Sanjay Shirsat. He also said in a press conference that he believes Sharat Pawar-led NCP will not go directly to the BJP.

Their policy is clear in this regard. NCP is a party of traitors. We will not stand with the NCP even if it is in power. Maharashtra will not like it if BJP brings NCP with them. Earlier, Maha Vikas Akhadi left the government because people were not interested in us to take on Congress and NCP, Shirsat said.

At the same time, despite Ajit Pawar’s explanation denying the rumors about joining the BJP, the NCP accused the BJP of trying to create a rift in the party.
