If citizens want to take care of their own affairs then why rule – Varun Gandhi against Yogi government | If the common man is left to fend for himself what does governance mean BJP MP Varun Gandhi

New Delhi: BJP MP Varun Gandhi on Monday lashed out at the Uttar Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Varun’s response was that people were suffering due to heavy rains.

Varun asked why there is an administration when citizens have to look after their own affairs when heavy rains wreak havoc.

Heavy rains had wreaked havoc in Varun’s Pilibhit constituency. Two people were killed and at least 100 were injured in what became known as the Bareilly and Pilibhit districts in the past two days.

The Sharda and Doha rivers overflowed. Many riverside villages were also submerged. More than 500 houses were submerged in the Sharda River. On Tuesday night, the Pilibhit district administration sought the help of the Army. The security forces airlifted about 26 people on Wednesday morning.

Varun Gandhi had written a letter to Yogi Adityanath demanding compensation for the farmers whose crops were damaged in the floods.

Despite being a BJP MP, Varun Gandhi is at odds with the party leadership. The BJP was deeply dissatisfied with the farmers ‘agitation and the UP Lakhimpur Kheri farmers’ killings. Varun Gandhi had come out against Union Minister Ajay Mishra and his son Ashish Mishra in the Lakhimpur Kheri farmer murder. Varun Gandhi’s response was to demand justice for the farmers.

Following this, Varun Gandhi and his mother Maneka Gandhi were removed from the BJP National Executive Committee in retaliation.
