The Busan Haeundae Police Station announced on the 21st that it is investigating a man in his 30s, a salesman at a car dealership, on charges of stealing 1 billion worth of vehicle proceeds.
Mr A is accused of extorting 1.1 billion won from 23 people by deceiving that he was selling cars cheaply while working for a car dealer in Haeundae-gu from November last year until recently.
According to the police, Mr A said, “I will give you a discount on the price of the car,” and induced him to put the car payment into his personal account and then intercepted it.
Person A, who disappeared after the crime, recently surrendered to the police.
The police will investigate the exact extent of the damage and the motive for the crime.
An officer from Haeundae Police Station said, “After identifying the victim and the extent of the damage, we intend to call Mr A to investigate.”
