IMSS: Maintenance worker reveals the oversights in the accident elevator (VIDEO)

A man who identified himself as part of the maintenance team at the Mexican Institute of Social Security hospital (IMSS) number 18, from Quintana Roo, specified for a video on social networks the occurrence of the events that led a minor with dengue to lose her lifebut above all, he assured that the night of the event none of those who intervened to rescue her had the correct tool to remove her.

In the early hours of Monday, July 10, Aitana Betzabé Domínguez, a child under 6 years of age, was transported by her orderly to another location at IMSS hospital number 18 in Quintana Roo to treat her dengue symptoms; however, At the moment of entering the elevator, he had the unfortunate luck to suffer a failure in the mechanism and that, despite the efforts of the medical personnel, ended his life..

According to a report issued by the agency, in the afternoon, there had been news of a failure in the elevator and that a company technician had come to repair itbut soon he was no longer heard from. Without a warning sign or fence to prevent their passage, the tragedy took place. and at the call of a man several people came in to see if they could ease the situation, including a maintenance technician.

“I entered because a man came out to ask for everyone’s help. I’m maintenance, I know how the elevators work and that door was closed because the sensors they have don’t work. They didn’t work”shared.

As he commented, in the video that circulates on social networks, maintenance was needed inside the Playa del Carmen hospital, and although they tried to carry out various maneuvers, including breaking the structure, they did not have the necessary tools:

“It lacked maintenance. The girl was trapped between the first and second levels. I didn’t see another person”I continue… “The body went from the first to the second floor. We tried to break that and we couldn’t. There was no tool so that the victim could be rescued.”

Social networks were soon filled with comments about the unfortunate fact, where the biggest question and indignation consists of the budget: “There is no budget. They removed the budgets, they don’t see what is happening, people are blinded, because they give them help on some cards”, “And the maintenance budget?”.

At the moment, the clinic has tried to disassociate itself from the facts, emphasizing the guilt of the Sitravem SA de CV company technician, but the State Prosecutor’s Office has already opened an investigation to clarify what happened.
