The accident occurred at around 15.30 in Serindere District, Yusufeli İspir highway T-19 Tunnel. As a result of the incorrect overtaking of the car driver with plate 26 DM 473, driven by Nurettin Aydemir (75), who was driving in the tunnel, the car with plate 61 ADH 579, driven by Muharrem Topçu (42), coming from the opposite direction, collided. 5 people in 2 vehicles were injured in the accident. Ambulance, gendarmerie, AFAD and Çoruh Search and Rescue (ÇAK) teams were dispatched to the scene of the accident upon the notice of passing drivers. The teams came to the address and rescued the injured people trapped in 2 cars. Nurettin, Fatma (72), Salih (67) and Nazire Aydemir (60), who were injured from the wrecked vehicles, and the driver of the other vehicle, Muharrem Topçu, were taken to Artvin State Hospital by medical teams. It was learned that 2 of the injured people under treatment had life-threatening conditions. An investigation has been launched into the accident. (DHA)
