Text: Kieran Harris – Gamereactor.cnVersus Evil, the independent publisher behind games like the Banner Saga trilogy and Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, has announced it is closing. Founded in 2013 by former ZeniMax Online Studios marketing director Steve Escalante, the publisher has released nearly 40 titles in its relatively short life.
Versus Evil is official on X announced this news and I declared it : “Today is a sad day. After 10 wonderful years, Versus Evil is closing its doors. We loved bringing you the best indie games we could find and sharing many happy memories with all of you, our amazing community! From the bottom of my heart heart, thank you for everything!”According to reports, the entire team of 13 has been fired by parent company tinyBuild. Shortly before that, tinyBuild decided to shut down Hakjak Studios, which was working on an Early Access game called Pigeon Simulator.
