India-England ODI series begins today; Kohli may not play – likely XI

London: India-England (ENG vs IND) ODI series starts today. The game will start at 5:30 pm at the Oval. The match will be televised on Sony Sports Network. The series consists of three ODIs. Rohit Sharma’s team India is confident of winning the T20 series. England instead. All-rounder Hardik Pandya will return to the team after a long break along with opener Shikhar Dhawan.

It is not sure if former skipper Virat Kohli will play during the third Twenty20 due to injury. Suryakumar Yadav has secured his place in the middle order with a smashing century. Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja are competing for a place in the team along with Mohammad Shami, Jasprita Bumrah, Pyath Krishna and Yuzvendra Chahal.

Poor form followed by injury; Virat Kohli may not play in the first ODI against England

This is Jos Buttler’s first ODI captaincy. The return of Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root and Ben Stokes, who are in furious form, will strengthen England. England are coming out with wins in nine of the last ten ODIs. India won six out of ten games.

Joe Root is the batsman who has scored the most runs at the Oval among the current players. Rohit has scored seven centuries in 24 ODIs against England. Maybe eleven knows..
