India-South Africa ODI series: South African superstar withdraws

South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada will not play in the ODI series against India. The board allowed the player to rest due to workload. South Africa have also included left-arm spinner George Linde, who was part of the Test team, in the ODI squad.

Meanwhile, the three-match ODI series between India and South Africa begins today at Bolland Park. The match will start at 1.30 pm Indian time. The match will be televised live on Star Sports and Disney Plus Hotstar.

It has been reported that Rahul will open the innings with Shikhar Dhawan. Former skipper Virat Kohli may also consider Suryakumar or Shreyas Iyer for number four. Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh will bowl at number five. The number six debutant is Venkatesh Iyer.

India are likely to try out two spinners. R Ashwin and Yusvendra Chahal will be at the helm of spin bowling. Jaspreet Bumra, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Deepak Chahar are also likely to be considered in the pace squad. Shardul Thakur could be in the team if he goes ahead with a spinner.
