India Takes Commanding Lead in First Test Against England

Hyderabad: India have a 190-run first innings lead in the first Test against England. India were bowled out for 436 runs in the first innings. India started batting on 421 for seven and lost the remaining three wickets by the time they scored 15 runs. Ravindra Jadeja scored 87 runs and Akshar Patel got out with 44 runs. Joe Root took four wickets for England.

England are 67 for one wicket when they finally get the information in the reply innings. R Ashwin dismissed Zach Crowley for 31 runs. Ben Duckett with 30 runs and Ollie Pope with six runs are at the top.

Apart from Ravindra Jadeja, Yaswaswee Jaiswal, who scored 80 runs, and KL Rahul, who scored 86 runs, led India to a good score. Jadeja scored 87 runs off 180 balls. Jadeja’s innings included seven fours and two sixes. Srikar Bharat scored 41 runs and Shreyas Iyer scored 35 runs for India. Rohit Sharma(24) and Shubman Gill(23) could not play a big innings.

England won the toss and batted first scoring 246 runs. England’s top scorer is captain Ben Stokes who scored 70 runs. Ravindra Jadeja for India, R. Ashwin took three wickets each. Axar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets each.
