India – third world ODI today; Jhulan Goswami’s last game

Lodz: The third and final match of the women’s ODI cricket series between India and India will be played today. The match will start at 3.30 pm Indian time.
India clinched the series 2-0 after winning the second ODI by 88 runs. Although irrelevant, it has the distinction of being runner Jhulan Goswami’s last fight. Julan, aged 39, is happy to have the opportunity to play the last game in Lodz, the mecca of cricket.
The Cricket Association of Bengal is all set to celebrate Julan’s last game. The match will be shown live on the big screen at Elgin Road, Kolkata from 2.30 pm onwards.
Today the curtain falls on a long career of 19 years and 262 days. This is the first time since 1999 that Indian women have won the world series. Julan’s first game was also against Im?nd. He made his ODI debut in Chennai in 2002.
Julan was born on 25 November 1982 in Nadia, Bengal. Appeared in 12 Tests, 203 ODIs and 68 Twenty20s. He took 44 wickets in Tests, 253 wickets in ODIs and 59 wickets in Twenty20s. His best performance in the Test was 10 wickets for 78 runs. Taking six wickets for 31 runs is the best performance in ODIs.
He conceded 11 runs and took five wickets in Twenty20.
Although he batted at the tail end, Julan also had some crucial innings. In 2002, he made a record partnership of 214 runs with Mithali Raj against India at Taunton. Julan scored 62 runs that day. He played in the 2005 and 2017 ODI World Cup finals.
Julan faces only the mild disappointment of ending his career without a World Cup title. In the press conference, Jhulan hoped that the young generation of India will win the World Cup soon. Julen made it clear that she has not thought about participating in the women’s IPL next March.
