Previously, on the 1st, a Spanish female tourist traveling to India with her husband was gang-raped. The victim was sleeping in a tent with her Spanish husband when she was attacked by assailants and then sexually assaulted.
The man, who was also attacked and is receiving hospital treatment, told the police that at least seven men had committed the crime. The police have caught three suspects and are chasing the remaining ones.
Sexual assaults against women are common in India. According to government statistics, around 90 cases of sexual assault occurred every day across the country in 2022.
