Indian veteran pacer Julan Goswami on the verge of historic achievement

HAMILTON: Indian veteran pacer Julan Goswami is on the verge of making history. He is the highest wicket – taker in the ODI World Cup. If he takes one more wicket, he will get a rare achievement by looking for a player. He had taken one wicket in the match against the Kiwis yesterday.

This is the fifth World Cup that Goswami has played. Currently, Goswami has taken 39 wickets in the World Cup. Goswami is with Lynn Fullstone of Australia. Hodges (37) is the second highest wicket taker. England’s Clare Taylor (36) is third. Australia’s Catherine Fitzpatrick (33) is fourth.

If Goswami takes one more wicket in the third match of the Women’s ODI World Cup, she will become the highest wicket-taker in the World Cup. India’s opponents are the mighty West Indies. Meanwhile, India lost by 62 runs to New Zealand in the second match of the World Cup. India were all out for 198 in 46.4 overs with a target of 261 runs.
