Indonesia’s Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto stated that the country’s efforts towards ‌rice self-sufficiency are impacting global ⁤rice prices, leading to a decrease in the⁢ international market.

According to Prabowo, ⁤reducing Indonesia’s⁢ reliance⁣ on rice imports is contributing to a drop​ in prices ⁤worldwide, potentially by hundreds‍ of dollars. He indicated that numerous countries‌ have expressed gratitude to Indonesia for this affect.

“We are⁣ not only ⁤helping the Indonesian people,⁢ we are also helping people⁢ around the world.‍ Why is that because if we don’t import rice,the world price of rice will ⁢fall,by hundreds of ‌dollars,” he said.

“So manny countries are grateful to us,” Prabowo added.
