The annual consultation serves⁢ as the highest bilateral mechanism between Malaysia and Indonesia, established in 2006. Key Agreements and ASEAN Leadership

During the ⁣visit, Prime Minister Anwar and President Prabowo ⁣are ⁢expected to witness‍ the signing of four meaningful Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs). These agreements‍ are set to cover crucial areas such⁣ as land border cooperation, healthcare advancements, and the expansion ‍of information and communications technology (ICT) capabilities.

Beyond the bilateral agenda, Prime Minister Anwar⁣ is also scheduled to visit the‍ ASEAN Secretariat in ⁤Jakarta. At the invitation of ASEAN secretary-General Kao Kim Hourn, Anwar will deliver remarks in his capacity as‍ ASEAN Chair for 2025. This address will serve to reaffirm Malaysia’s dedication to regional integration and the ongoing efforts in community-building ⁤within the ASEAN bloc.

The Malaysian delegation accompanying Prime Minister Anwar includes several key Cabinet ministers, underscoring the⁣ breadth of the discussions.
