Infosys emerges as champions in Ravis Pratidhwani Seven Sides tournament

Thiruvananthapuram: In a thrilling display of skill and sportsmanship, Infosys emerged victorious by defeating UST with a remarkable 3-0 scoreline in the finals of the highly anticipated “Ravis Pratidhwani Seven Sides” tournament. Organized by Pradithwani, an esteemed IT employee welfare organization, the event saw participation from 95 IT companies at Technopark. Earlier in the tournament, Infosys had also claimed victory over Tatalexi with a close 1-0 win.

Inauguration by Minister Veena George

The final matches, held on Thursday, July 27th at 3:30 pm, were inaugurated by Veena George, the Minister of Health, Women, and Child Welfare of Kerala. The prestigious Technopark ground witnessed the presence of notable figures like former Indian football team captain Joe Paul Ancheri, sports council secretary Leena KA, and former world boxing champion KC Lekha, who graced the event and distributed prizes to the deserving winners.

Overwhelming response from IT professionals

A staggering number of more than 2000 IT employees from over 100 IT companies enthusiastically participated in the tournament, which was organized in association with ‘Ravis Hotel Group’ and ‘UD Promotions’. The football finals attracted an audience of over 1500 tech enthusiasts, creating a vibrant and electric atmosphere.

Rewards for champions and outstanding performers

The victorious team in the seven-a-side tournament was rewarded with a grand prize of twenty-five thousand rupees along with a lifetime trophy and a luxurious one-day stay at Ravis Ashtamudi. Raviz Hotels and Yoode Promotions added to the excitement by presenting various other prizes. Additionally, the five tournament winners received a reward of Rs 10,000, a trophy, and a glorious one-day stay at Ravis Ashtamudi. Furthermore, special acknowledgments were given to the best players of the tournament, the top scorers, and the outstanding goalkeepers. The player of the match trophy, highlighting exceptional sportsmanship, was bestowed upon the deserving recipients after each match, along with special prizes from ‘UD’.

A landmark event for the IT sector

The Ravis Pratidhwani Sevens Football Tournament, featuring the participation of leading IT companies, has proudly become the largest football tournament in the Indian IT sector. In early May, the tournament was inaugurated by U Sharaf Ali, the President of Kerala Sports Council. Spanning over an exhilarating period of three months, the tournament concluded just yesterday, leaving behind a legacy of camaraderie, skill, and a spirit of healthy competition.

In the first week of May, Kerala Sports Council President U Sharaf Ali inaugurated the tournament. The tournament which lasted for three months ended yesterday.
