Intel has leaked details about its first Arc B580 GPUs, which are based on the Xe2 “Battlemage” architecture. These new graphics cards aim to compete in the mainstream gaming market alongside AMD and NVIDIA.

Two models have surfaced: the ASRock Intel Arc B580 Steel Legend OC and the ASRock Intel Arc B580 Challenger OC. Both cards feature a 12 GB GDDR6 memory and are designed with custom configurations that differ from reference designs.

Key Specifications:

  • Memory: 12 GB 192-bit GDDR6
  • Architecture: Intel Xe2-HPG
  • Special Features: Intel Xe Super Sampling (XeSS) and Intel XMX for enhanced performance
  • Cooling Design:
    • Steel Legend OC: Triple-fan system, 2.5 slots, dimensions 15.71×8.43×3.82 inches, factory overclock to 2.8 GHz, dual 8-pin power connectors.
    • Challenger OC: Dual-fan setup, double slots, dimensions 14.17×8.54×2.52 inches, single 8-pin power connector.

Both models are rated for use with a 650W power supply. The Steel Legend OC uses an advanced cooling design that allows hot air to exit from the back, while the Challenger OC also includes a cut-out for airflow.

The Arcade B580 features the Battlemage BMG-G21 GPU core with 20 Xe2 cores. It delivers slightly lower memory bandwidth than its predecessor, the Arc A580, but offers upgrades in IPC and architectural performance.

While the cards are available for listing on Amazon, their prices are currently unknown. The Arc A580 was launched at $179, but had issues with drivers and support. Intel aims to avoid these mistakes with the Battlemage series by ensuring better driver support from launch.

In summary, the Intel Arc B580 GPUs promise to enhance gaming experiences with impressive specifications and designs that cater to mainstream gamers. Keep an eye out for pricing and further updates on these graphics cards.
