Introducing the Kakao Memorial Profile… Converted at the request of close family members

Kakao announced on the 17th that it has introduced a ‘memorial profile’ function to Kakao Talk. It is a function that allows you to mourn and remember a deceased member on KakaoTalk. Even if the deceased’s mobile phone is canceled or put into a dormant state, the profile does not change to ‘(unknown)’ and you can memorialize in this space.

At the request of the immediate family, the profile of the deceased will be converted into a memorial profile. A chrysanthemum icon is created next to the photo, and a memorial message can be sent through a one-to-one chat room.

If you switch to a memorial profile, a message saying ‘You have been converted to a friend to remember you by OO’ will be displayed in all the deceased’s group chat rooms in Kakao Talk.
